Teach the students fundamentals of probability theory and some of its applications
Treści kształcenia:
Probability spaces, conditional probability, total probability and Bayes formulae. Random variables and their distribution. Distribution function. Types of random variables, probability mass functions density functions. Random vectores. Discrete random variables. Examples. Review of most important ones. 0-1, Binomial, Polynomial, Geometric. Dependance and independance. Marginal distributions. Conditioning. Continuous random variables. Review of most important ones: Normal, Uniform , Exponential, Gamma, Beta. Dependance and independance. Marginal distributions. Conditioning. Functions of random variables. Problem of approximation of some random variables by the others. Linear models. Convergence of sequences of random variables. Laws of large numbers and central limit theorem.
Metody oceny:
2 midterm exams (2x15pts) 10pts for activity on tutorials and final test (60pts) all together 100 pts : 51-60pts =C , 61-70pts=C+,71-80pts=B, 81-90=B+, 91-100=A
