Cel przedmiotu:
The aim of the lecture is to provide students with basic knowledge related to application of magnetic methods and magnetic materials in biomedicine, diagnostics and therapy, such as magnetic resonance image, nanomaterials in targeted drug delivery, magnetic separation and hyperthermia.
Treści kształcenia:
The lecture includes: Brief history of magnetism in medicine, Basic principles of magnetism, Classification of magnetic interactions in solids (diamagnetism, paramagnetism, ferromagnetism, superparamagnetism), Magnetic domains and domain walls, Magnetic curves and hysteresis loop, Single domain particles and superparamagnetism, Nanoscale magnetism, Generation of magnetic fields, Measurement of magnetic fields, Basic principles of magnetic resonance, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Diagnostics with MRI, Remote controlled drug delivery, Magnetic hyperthermia.
